Societal dynamics are constantly evolving and people are searching out for safest countries in the world, as a destination to settle in. While looking at the best countries to live in, it does not necessarily mean that they would be one of the most developed countries. To simplify, we share a list of top 10 safest countries in the world to live in 2016.

Ranking the top 10 safest countries in the world can be very subjective as several factors count before one can term a country as the safest country in the world. For example, some people who are citizens / nationals of a particular country may consider themselves to be living in the safest country of the world no matter what the crime rate is, natural disaster occurrence or other harsh conditions be in play.

While, there might be people who would feel the strongest of threats by staying in a country which is considered to be the most peaceful country in the world by others.  In that light, we’ve laid down some metrics which help us score places in the world as the best countries to live in.

Starting with a few, some people might acknowledge the fact that it would be best to term a country best country to live in which has the lowest:

  4. Domestic violence cases
  5. Corruption levels

However, there is a better way of defining some of the best countries to live in. There is a thing called Global Peace Index – which is derived from or has a median of 23 other indexes including prison population for any given country,  the violence levels for every reported crime, overall security and protection provided by the state in a society, the rate of export and import for weapons or defense machinery for that country, internal conflicts, international threats or conflicts, political instability and several other such factors.
