There are more and more people in the world living in cities but are cities the safest places to live in the world? Obviously the safety of a city varies, so which is the most livable city in the world or if you are a tourist, what is the most safest city in the world?
Obviously city officials will want to promote the safety of their own city to encourage tourism but can they be believed? The following list reflects surveys that were taken from the people that live in the cities and who are perhaps the best judges of their own safety. From the results of the surveys, here is a list o perhaps the top 10 most safest cities in the world in 2014.
Seoul, South Korea
With a population of 10 million people, Seoul is among the largest of the cities in the developed world and has a very large amount of international residents. Adding to this, a high amount of tourists, the safety factor is difficult but the city authorities seem to do a good job of keeping crime off of the streets.
Visitors to this city, the capital of Denmark, report no instances of witnessing cheating or crimes.
The third largest city in Germany seems to live up to its motto ‘Munich Loves You’ as, despite receiving a large number of tourists each year, it continues to be thought of as one of the most livable cities in the world.
As well as being one of the safest cities in the world, its ‘green’ policies are an example which many other cities should try and follow.
It may be surprising to see a Middle Eastern country on this list but despite the ever increasing number of tourists to Dubai, it remains a safe place to live or visit.
No surprises that possibly the most neutral country in the world is on this list. Zurich is though, one of the most visited countries in the world, yet manages to keep its safety record.
This beautiful city has a robust economy and so is a good place to live and its tourists also have very few complaints about safety.

Singapore is widely thought to be the cleanest city in the world and despite a very multi cultured make up and a great number of tourists; it is also one of the safest cities in the world.
Despite this city being in Eastern Europe, it manages to maintain a very large tourism rate, especially among yachters. This is mainly due to its exceptional safety record.
Even with a large tourism rate, Tokyo still manages to keep a reputation for being clean and safe. The city is also known for its reputation for having the friendliest taxi drivers in the world.
